Are you struggling with ADHD or what is going on?
Generally ADHD is a condition that you are born with, it is often genetic and starts at birth. However, many individuals haven fallen through the cracks or are misdiagnosed with other related disorders. This often leads to inappropriate or only partially-effective treatment approaches being used.
ADHD is marked by difficulties with time management, planning and organizing, emotion regulation, attention and focus, and mental flexibility.
We offer a comprehensive assessment which answers that question - is it ADHD or is it something else? With our assessment you will get a formal assessment and diagnosis (if criteria is met) that can be used to support a conversation with your medical provider about treatment options, or accessing appropriate accommodations at school and work for your difficulties.
Additionally, our report will help you to understand what your ADHD specifically looks like to help you understand how to target future behavioral treatment interventions as well as understanding yourself better.
How ASSESSMENT works
All ADHD assessment services are offered virtually at this time, making it easier to access services and accommodate scheduling needs.
The assessment process looks like…
Self-Report Measures: Ahead of our meeting I will send you a packet of questionnaires for you to fill out to better inform our clinical interview. These must be completed 24 hours ahead of your scheduled assessment meeting. These will assess ADHD and other mental health disorders. These forms take 20-30 minutes to complete.
Assessment Meeting: A clinical interview is conducted to get the “big” picture of your life, development, and mental health history. Scientifically validated tools are also used to assess your ADHD and other mental health disorders. This meeting is typically 30-60 minutes.
A computer-based test must be completed after our assessment meeting, but before the report meeting. I will send you a link for this testing and it can be completed at home. This test takes 20-30 minutes to complete.
Final Report: We will have a follow-up session to go over your full diagnostic report. We will discuss the findings and recommendations for further treatment options. We will answer any questions you have. This meeting is typically 15-30 minutes. This report can be used for further medical treatment and accommodations at work or school.
